30-day Harry Potter Writing Challenge - Day 25: That one character you love to hate.

Dolores Jane Umbridge. That's the name. Gaaah! I hate her so much. Terrible, terrible character. She's a perfect representation of politicians in the muggle world.

The worst thing? She has my mother's name! It's annoying. Plus! She's so into pink and cats like yours truly... I swear I hate her so much.

30-day Harry Potter Writing Challenge - Day 24: Your favourite villain.

Hmm. My younger self will shout Draco Malfoy in no time... But that's basically because of young Tom Felton. Who didn't loved that little shit? Hahaha.

Well, now that I know the story to a whole new higher level... I choose Bellatrix. I don't know, she's just... Beautifully terrifying. If there's such thing in the world, that's her. I hated her when she killed off Sirius.. But there's no argument how villain she is. I think. So yeah, she's my favourite villain.

30-day Harry Potter Writing Challenge - Day 23: Character/s you want to go to Hogwarts with.

Oooh!! This is fun! Well I wanna go to Hogwarts and be friends with:

>Sirius Black
>Remus Lupin
>Fred and George Weasly
>Nymphadora Tonks

We'll be badass, full of sass and all that!

30-day Harry Potter Writing Challenge - Day 22: One character you want to have a POV

Just one??? Ugh! There are too many! Alright if I have to pick one it'll be.. Fred and George Weasley!

Can you imagine how hilarious their POV be?.. But of course heart breaking as well.. Although, I don't wanna get into that.

30-day Harry Potter Writing Challenge - Day 21: Your most favourite quote.

“What’s comin’ will come, an’ we’ll meet it when it does.”

Excerpt From: J. K. Rowling. “Harry Potter 4 - Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.” Scholastic Press, 2000-01-02T08:00:00+00:00. iBooks.
This material may be protected by copyright.

I think this justifies my previous entry... It is just that my favourite quote come from my favourite character.

I just love the meaning of this one. Uncertainty about the future, we often felt that way. But whatever life brings; we are to face and welcome it.

As far as I can remember, I've put it as my quote in my HS year book. And I've been living it.

30-day Harry Potter Writing Challenge - Day 20: Your most favourite character.

Well, this is a tough one...

I love all of the main characters.. But if one will stand out... I guess it's Hagrid.

Yeah. Rebeus Hagrid is my favourite character... His loyalty is what makes him the best, I guess.. Well that's just IMO.

30-day Harry Potter Writing Challenge - Day 19: What is your favourite thing about the "Golden Trio" (Harry, Ron and Hermione)

My favourite thing about the Golden Trio is that they complement each other.

These three characters taught me about friendship, so much that it's been a goal for me to find their kind of friendship.

They have the kind of bond that glows and grows that made others envious of them.

30-day Harry Potter Writing Challenge - Day 18: Your favourite member of the Marauders.

I might strangle to death the one will answer Wormtail in this question.. Ok just kidding. I'll let the silver hand decide for your faith. :P

So who is my favourite member of the Marauders?.. Hmm.. I'd say Sirius. Just because. I think he's the "campus crush" on their time at Hogwarts. I think he's the coolest. ;)

30-day Harry Potter Writing Challenge - Day 17: Imagine you have the Deathly Hallows in your possession, what will you do with each?

Oh wow! Then I'll be the greatest! Hmmm.. That's quite exciting and bothering at the same time... I don't quite trust myself with power and responsibility. Haha!

But let's keep it light:

Elder Wand - I'll muster a spell that makes water and food available for everyone one in the world; so then no one would experience hunger.

Resurrection Stone - I'll be selfish on this one. The dead are meant to rest. Maybe when I'm dying, I'll hold on to it, so that my relatives who passed away can lead me to the right path.

Invisibility Cloak - Oh! This is my fave! Lot's of sneaking around.. :P And I won't divulge what I'll do when I have this fancy little thing.

30-day Harry Potter Writing Challenge - Day 16: If you have a one year stock of polyjuice potion, who would you be for a whole year?

Wow. Ok, first... The person should be aware of this, s/he should take this one whole year as a break. Second, I should be paid! Hahahaha!

Well, I guess this will be a lot to get used to and it won't be easy... But I have a list of celebrities that I wanna switch places with.. Well, no, I don't want them to be me... I just want a taste of their lives... And I know I cannot live that through. Here are my top 3 picks:

  1. Kendall Jenner
  2. HH Queen Elizabeth II
  3. JK Rowling
Hmm.. But I guess it won't be legit "poly-juice-potioning".

Tuesday, August 16, 2016

30-day Harry Potter Writing Challenge - Day 15: What is your Patronus?

I have two choices: A unicorn or a tiger... Although, according to the definition of the Patronus Charm, it conjures a magical guardian in the form of an animal to whom the conjurer feels a deep affinity with... And for that, I chose the tiger. Albus Dumbledore is the only wizard known to produced a magical creature (Phoenix) as a Patronus.. And I don't think I'm up to his abilities.. But as an Animagus, I would very much likely want to be a unicorn!

30-day Harry Potter Writing Challenge - Day 14: What is your favourite Tri-Wizard Tournament Challenge?

Oooh.. Just in time for this Pottermore post: The Triwizard Tournament

My favourite one is the second task! Alright, I actually hate the Triwizard Tournament when it began... Specially when Ron was being an ass towards Harry. I hated reading that; but I understand both parties... And that's the worst part!

So, second task... We went under water. Jo introduced us to the mere people on the Black Lake.. Imagine falling down under.. Creeper!

In the movies, this was Dan's most hated bit to film... He had an ear infection because of this scene... But, no pain, no gain... It was a well done thing as always!

30-day Harry Potter Writing Challenge - Day 13: Site one moment in yourlife that you're willing to change by using a time turner.

WARNING!!!

THIS POST CONTAINS SOME SPOILERS!!! READ AT YOUR OWN RISK.

The concept of the time turner had always amazed me... And indeed, there are certain things in my past that I longed to change, although not really. I don't do regrets. There are some what ifs, but I don't quite internalise on it. I always believed that things happen for a reason; but there are times when you just did something so stupid and you wish you could change that instantly and you wish to have a time turner with you... Then came Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

If you have watched the play or read the script book, you already know what I'm talking about... But if you haven't... Well, I suggest you read it first. You'll understand what I'm saying.

As much a possible I don't want to divulge any plot of the Cursed Child.. So I'll just go and answer the question... If I do have a time turner with me, I'll go back to the day of my high school graduation and urge myself to take a photo op with my best friends and not do the thing that I still feel stupid for doing... Give my high school crush a confession letter! I swear I'll steal that letter and burn it to ashes!

I wonder though, what could be the result of that... No, I don't want to think... I firmly believe I'll be happy wherever I'm going.

30-day Harry Potter Writing Challenge - Day 12: If you play Quidditch, what position will you take?

Ok, let's get this straight.... I am not a sporty person; and I guess being magical does not change that... But Quidditch is amazing. So yeah, I have loved to ride in a broomstick and play it! But for what position..? Hmmm... Before that.. Let's take a look at this part of the 1st movie, where Harry is introduced to this sport by Oliver Wood:

Well.. I as much as I want to, I don't think I can be a seeker... Because, I am not as keen as Harry. Besides, my patience wore out faster than the snitch.. So, I better be a... Keeper! It's more exciting anyways.. Hahaha!

And keep in my mind that not because you have a good seeker does not necessarily mean that you'll won... Let's remember what happened to the 422nd Quidditch World Cup between Ireland and Bulgaria... Krum did caught the snitch, but Ireland still won the big thing.

30-day Harry Potter Writing Challenge - Day 11: What will you see in the Mirror of Erised

"Erised stra ehru oyt ube cafru oyt on wohsi"

This is where Jo first showed her talent at playing with words... "Erised stra ehru oyt ube cafru oyt on wohsi" is actually read backwards: I show not your face but your hearts desire. Mirror of Erised is equivalent to Mirror of Desire. Magical? I know.

Well, this is quite a personal question... But I'll answer. I will see myself in the Mirror of Erised in a yacht, contentedly looking at my family and in the arms of a well-deserved man.

30-day Harry Potter Writing Challenge - Day 10: Which House of Hogwarts do you represent?

Need I say more? I always knew I belong in Gryffindor... Then Pottermore came and I've confirmed it. Don't get me wrong I do love all the Houses... Although when I was a bit younger, I never really liked to be sorted in other houses; but now, I won't mind.. Well, I always chose to be loyal to my House.

30-day Harry Potter Writing Challenge - Day 9: Your favourite thing about Hogwarts.

My favourite thing about Hogwarts?.. It's magical.

“Help will always be given at Hogwarts to those who ask for it.”

― Albus Dumbledore (J.K. Rowling), Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Hogwarts is where I spent most of my childhood summer... I always dreamed to walk on its grounds... To discover all the rooms.. To eat in the Great Hall that is magically filled with foods, can you just imagine how heaven-like it would smell inside during meal time? I want to hangout in all of the common rooms and sleep in each house's dormitories. I want to be able to experience climbing the moving staircases, meet the ghosts and the portraits and of course play on the Quidditch pitch, or just watch... Because I'm not actually a sporty person. Anyways, that's basically everything I like about Hogwarts.

“Whether you come back by page or by the big screen, Hogwarts will always be there to welcome you home.”

30-day Harry Potter Writing Challenge - Day 8: Your least favourite movie.

Alright... I know you'll think that my least favourite HP movie is the same as my least favourite HP book... But no. Sorry, wrong guess.

My least favourite HP movie is the 6th one: Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince. The movie just didn't do the book any justice. The explanation of who the half-blood Prince was the worst part. Too much scenes in the book was omitted.

30-day Harry Potter Writing Challenge - Day 7: Your least favorite book.

Not so much though... But still.

Least but still favourite... Yeah well, I think it's the 5th one: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

As to why?... Well, it's just that I need to chose one. Haha!! Kidding aside, I think it's just where my least liked scenes mostly happened: Sirius' death, Harry's first kiss (I don't like it, mainly because Harry Potter has grown up and I just, can't. Okay, the truth? I don't want to see Dan kissing someone on the big screen!!! What? I was young then.. Hahaha!), Dolores Umbridge was introduced, worst DADA class ever...

Basically that's it. Although there are some cool and exciting things and events here in this book as well.

30-day Harry Potter Writing Challenge - Day 6: List down your top 3mostpainful/unacceptable deaths in the movie adaptations.

WARNING!!!

THIS POST CONTAINS MAJOR SPOILERS!!!

READ AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Yes.. It's a different list... Well, the two might be the same... But... Books are different from the movies...

There is an unacceptable one here... Mainly because... It has been changed drastically by the movie...

3. Sirius Black

I don't know about you guys but it was really painful to watch Harry rush over and reach for him through the veil. Harry almost went with him if it wasn't for Lupin.

*I always considered the books different from the movies, thus the switching places of Fred and Sirius... It's just different. Deal with it.*

2. Fred Weasley

George's other half. It was just heartbreaking.

1. Dobby

Oh dear Dobby... He has own ways of protecting Harry... He had defied his master for Harry. It was painful to see him die after saving Harry's ass.. But it was so nice of Harry to provide him a proper burial.

And the most unacceptable death in the movies for me... Is Hedwig. My sweet, pure, snowy owl.. I cried as well when she died in the book; but in the book.. She was helpless in her cage and Harry was too, helpless I mean. It was painful to read through.. In the movies however, they made her the reason of why all of the 7 Harrys, the death eaters and Voldemort eventually find the real Harry. That was just unacceptable. It wasn't her fault, the worst part? Harry (Dan) is the one who suggested that Hedwig gave him away. Justice for Hedwig!!!

Soar high dear Hedwig.

30-day Harry Potter Writing Challenge - Day 5: List down your top 3most painful/unacceptable deaths in the books.

WARNING!!!

This post contains major spoilers!

READ AT YOUR OWN RISK

Woah... Every death is painful. Yes. Even in a fictional story. What more to a story that honed your childhood (I don't consider Harry Potter fiction.. Is that even a surprise?)? To a story that brought you to a new dimension? To a story that introduced you to such characters that you ended up being best friends with, to characters that you love to love and to hate? Every major death in the Harry Potter series, has been heart shattering, well not really.

Anyways... Here are my top 3 most PAINFUL deaths in the books:

I have long accepted the unacceptable, death is inevitable... Since I've already read The Cursed Child playbook, a deeper understanding of accepting what happened in the past is prominent. As Snape had said in some sick, twisted reality: "Sometimes, costs are made to be borne." (Rowling, Tiffany and Thorne)

3. Alastor "Mad-Eye" Moody

Except for Professor Lupin, Professor Moody is the next best thing that happened to Hogwarts DADA class in Harry's time... But then that wasn't even the real him. His death was painful for me because... I think Harry and him didn't had an actual interaction and it was such a waste.

2. Fred Weasley

It was the greatest heart break for George and everyone else in the fandom.. Even Jo felt sorry for killing him off. And I have to stop here.. Because I'm in a public place and cannot afford to cry.

1. Sirius Black

He was introduced in my favorite book... And he was killed of on the 5th one... I loved Sirius because he was such a bad ass character. All the pain that Harry felt when he fell in the veil... Radiated out of the pages and into my heart.

30-day Harry Potter Writing Challenge - Day 4: Is there anything in the film adaptations that annoyed you?

I think this is a major one.. So please, if you're new to the fandom and haven't watched all of the films... Kindly leave now.

I hate this part right here....

This one is the biggest thing that annoyed me in the film adaptation... All the others I can look pass through... The exciting parts omitted and all that... But this one?.. Until now, I still can't comprehend why they need to do this.

For me though, it symbolizes that a new Potter movies is impossible to sprang. It ends here. And it hurts... Too much.

30-day Harry Potter Writing Challenge - Day 3: What is your mostfavourite movie?

Harry Potter movies are the only movie franchise that I had supported with my whole being. I've watched all of it in the movie house.. I've re-watched it countless of times... These things, I don't do this to any other films/stories.

I don't like re-watching series/films that I already watched, I think it is a waste of time. Unless it's Harry Potter, of course!

I'm both a lover and a hater of surprises. Weird?.. I know! I hate being spoiled... But I also hate it when I don't know what's gonna happen in the story.. I love guessing games (not that much) that I can decipher, I love the feeling of excitement to know what will happen next. I guess these are things that keeps me plastered in the Wizarding World. The way Jo crafted these stories were so brilliant that I don't even know if the term "brilliant" gives it justice.

All of these magic came to life in the big screen, much thanks to Warner Bros... Ah, the feeling of seeing each film for the first time!

If I'll have to chose, I'd still chose Prisoner of Azkaban. I don't know. That's my most favourite, both for the book and the movies.

30-day Harry Potter Writing Challenge - Day 2: What is your most favourite book?

Whenever I'm asked this question (generally), my answer is and always will be: HARRY POTTER SERIES! And now I have to chose the best among the best (obviously: IMOHO) I'm finding it quite hard...

In Sorcerer's Stone, the introduction to the Wizarding World begun. I went with Harry, every step of the way and unravel a world that is way too different from the usual that we grown into.

Chamber of Secrets, basically a school adventure at its finest, we went deciphering the secrets and all that not very usual stuffs.

Prisoner of Azkaban... The start of darker adventures... And adolescence. :P This was the part of the unfolding story that Harry (together with the readers) discovers more about the Wizarding World. It's also the book where the past starts to visually collide with the present.

Goblet of Fire, I always thought that Jo must've titled this 4th book wrongly... I thought it should have been: Harry Potter and the Triwizard Tournament (Is it just me? Ok. Haha!). In this book, we were introduced to two other Witchcraft and Wizardry schools; I think this is a sneak peek of the glamorous and cultural world of different wizarding communities.

Order of the Pheonix... Ugh! Prolly my least favourite one! This is the most tragic book for me... I dunno, It's getting darker every step of the way...

Half-blood Prince, the twists are remarkable. And as to who the Half-blood Prince is/was.. Well, confusions, doubts arises... Resulting to the true test of loyalty and alliances.

Deathly Hallows. The supposed to be last year in Hogwarts. Gaah! Why am I having ghost bumps?.. This was the most emotional book.. The book that made all Potterheads cried literally before even reading the first word of the first chapter. Jo, you are just the best!

Cursed Child. Well, this is indeed included in the choices. The anticipation for this one is massive. We have waited for 9 years!!! Well, I don't want to spoil any part of this one here.. One thing that I can say: Jo owns the Wizardig World, and I'm always glad to drop by and walk inside through her words.

So my favourite book in the series... Is the..... *drum roll* .......

HARRY POTTER AND THE PRISONER OF AZKABAN

There's just far too much in this book... Start of teenage years... Transitioning. Growing up.. Revelations of secrets as well as informations that will be very useful as the saga continues.

30-day Harry Potter Writing Challenge - Day 1: Discuss the start ofyour journey to the Wizarding World.

Ah! I love this. I can't believe I'm actually doing this... And I have to start before I ran out of words...

We'll go down memory lane... Ready? Here goes...

Year 2001, when I fell in love with an 11-year-old Daniel Radcliffe on the big screen. Boy, I was smitten to say the least! Well, this should be a different topic; but that's when my journey to the Wizarding World started, at the end of the first movie adaptation, I was in awe... It's like a whole new world! Magical, enchanting and promising.

I've loved the Sorcerer's Stone not just because of the story and young Dan, but also because it's the best movie (that sticks) that I've watched with my mama, my papa and little brother. I can still remember how my mama was so amazed with the moving staircases at Hogwarts! It was priceless. At the end credits of the movie, I can still remember how my papa was pulling me out of the cinema already and yet my eyes are still glued on the screen. I knew I found the boy I want to marry (yes, it's Dan.. Just my Dan). Anyways, when I got home that day, I've found myself agitatedly wishing for next year to pass by quickly so that I can watch the 2nd film!

Waiting... Was not my thing.. So, I busied myself with the Harry Potter books that my Ninong sent me. It has been in my grandmother's house years before I see the Sorcerer's Stone in the movie house. I'm not a keen reader as a child, little did my young mind knows that it can take me to different places, dimensions even, a different world, sometimes my own and introduce me to different people and creatures. If only I've known, I would've start early on. Although, I don't think I'm late... I did grew up with Harry; and I think it was just the right timing.

See, I was NEVER a fan of reading. Harry Potter made me read, and life has never been the same. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone is the first ever book that I read from pages to pages; and then, the rest followed suit. Of course, every Potterhead in the world would agree with me on this, once is never enough; I've read it countless of times already. And I'm planning to read it again. It used to be a yearly tradition but... Adult life interferes. SMH.

Yay! So that's it. That's the start of my journey to the Wizarding World. It continues until now of course, and I won't end it. If Harry Potter made me read as a child, it made me write as an adult. I've been battling with writer's block for almost two years now; but the Cursed Child was released and here I am... Doing my passion (writing), for the love of all that's Harry Potter-ey.

30-day Harry Potter Writing Challenge

Yass! I really am doing this! Like, finally!I have yet to discuss how my obsession with Harry Potter starts.. But, it'll will go along the way.. Besides, this is way more RAD! So, for the whole month of August, I will be dealing with 1 Harry Potter Writing Challenge. Hopefully I can finish it. Well, I will. Finish this.

I'll be putting this in any future posts if deemed necessary. Consider yourselves warned. It will be your discretion to continue through the post once you see this.

Give credits when it is due... Of course these posts will be of my own words as much as possible; but there will be some that I'll need to find resources for.. Like pictures, videos, etc. You get the idea. So of course, as much as I can Accio them, it'll be good if I'll give credit as to where they'll come from.

I really am thrilled to start this!
